danielthepoet's 148th PictureIt’s a Paid Search Tool Extravaganza up in here. I’ve got product demos and followup calls coming out my ears. I’m four deep right now. Each tool has its pros and cons. And each product’s strength and weakness is unique to itself.

I’m currently using Acquisio, and I’m not 100% convinced we need to change. I inherited the product and, unfortunately for me, didn’t get the full product demo when I started, so I honestly know more about these other tools strengths and weaknesses because I’m not having to explore those on my own.

Here are the tools I’m checking out:

Kenshoo

Kenshoo is used by Zappos, one of the online brands I admire most. Their key differentiator is the depth of analysis. With the Kenshoo tracking pixel/code, you can not only see which clicks turn into direct sales or conversions, but you can see which clicks turn into conversions on a later visit, potentially through a second click. This data will help you to make the most informed editing decisions involving your campaigns.

ClickEquations

Click Equations is the brand I’ve heard the least about, but was fairly impressed by the demo and the strength of analysis. I was a little disappointed to discover that reports can only be exported to Excel, but they can be customized to incorporate all the graphs and pie charts and what not that other PDF reports employ.
